Jesus Cares Ministry
Jesus Cares is a ministry geared towards those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. It provides individuals with special needs the opportunity to hear God's Word, actively participate in worship, and enjoy time with their family members and volunteers.
Our Jesus Cares ministry uses Worship at the Cross which is a simplified service designed to make worship more accessible for individuals with disabilities. A PowerPoint presentation using pictures and symbols helps to guide the service. Rhythmic instruments, such as maracas, allow nonreaders or those who are nonverbal to participate in worship in a way that is suitable for them. A short message and the opportunity for those in attendance to request prayers round out the service.
